Pour 1 liter of milk to a heavy bottom pan on medium heat & boil it well.
Add 5 tbsp of custard powder in room temperature to the milk & mix well.
Stir the hot milk in the pan in between & let it heat & come to a gentle boil.
Then lower the heat, add sugar & start adding the custard mix .Add little at a time & mix after each addition.Add the vanilla essence.
Whisk continuously.Cook for 2-3 mints until the custard thickens.There should be no lumps.
Remove from heat & let it cool down a bit.
Prepare the base- Crush the milk bikis biscuits to a grinder to make fine powder.Then in a mixing bowl put the biscuit powder, add the room temperature butter & mix with your finger tips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Press the mixture in a rectangle shaped glass tray & refrigerate it to set.
Then top with tangerine segments or orange pieces.After that pour the custard & refrigerate to set.
In the meantime make the jelly by adding gelatine powder in warm water.Stir until dissolved.
Pour the orange juice in the jelly mix & stir well to make orange jelly.
Bring the custard tray from refrigerator & pour the orange jelly over it.
Again refrigerate for 10-15 mints to set.
Decorate with orange circles.
Serve the beautiful ,delicious orange custard trifle chilled.
